

Danish EU Presidency 2025 in the field of employment
On 1 July, Denmark takes over the Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
The main priorities in the field of employment during the Danish EU-presidency are:
A more competitive Europe
Focus is on ensuring a qualified workforce with the right skills and fair working conditions, fair labour mobility and to avoid unnecessary burdens for companies, citizens and authorities. Competitiveness is on the agenda for the informal employment ministers meeting in Aalborg 7 -8 July 2025.
Free and fair labour mobility in the EU
Focus is on ensuring that Euro-pean labour mobility takes place under fair and decent working conditions for migrant workers as well as for posted workers, including from third countries. Safe and healthy working lives with fair working conditions
Focus is on strengthening occupational health and safety in the EU and address poor working condition, such as false internships. The Danish Presidency will promote negotiations on the 6th revision of the Cancer Directive (the CMRD-6) and the trilogue negotiations on the Traineeships Directive.
Strengthened social dialogue
Focus is on promoting the role of social dialogue in reaching balanced solutions. Strengthened social dialogue will be an overarching priority during the Danish Presidency and part of the in-formal employment ministers meeting in Aalborg 7 - 8 July 2025.

- 27-28 May: Meeting of Directors General for Industrial Relations (DGIR) in Copenhagen
- 7-8 July: Informal employment ministers meeting in Aalborg with a focus on strengthening European competitiveness and free and fair mobility in the EU
- 15 July: The Danish Minister for Employment presents the Danish Presidency priorities in the field of employment to the European Parliament's Employ-ment Committee (EMPL)
- 25-26 September: Informal Meeting in the Employment Committee (EMCO) in Copenhagen
- 17 October: EPSCO Council meeting in Luxembourg
- 22 October: Tripartite Social Summit in Brussels
- 5-6 November: Senior Labour Inspectors' Committee (SLIC) meeting in Copenhagen
- 1 December: EPSCO Council meeting in Brussels
- 11-12 December: Public Employment Services (PES) meeting in Copenhagen.
